Zatrzymujemy się na około kilometr przed granicą. Idziemy pieszo, pada deszcz i jest już ciemno. Ledwie widać głębokie kałuże na pełnej dziur drodze. Strefa przygraniczna po zmroku jest niebezpieczna, ale my musimy w jakiś sposób opuścić Honduras. Powinniśmy cały odcinek rozłożyć na dwa dni, aby granicę przekroczyć jeszcze za dnia. Szczególnie pamiętając o tym, że w Ameryce Środkowej przejścia graniczne często są zamykane w godzinach wieczornych. Całkowicie przemoczeni podchodzimy do jedynego widocznego posterunku granicznego, a tam ani żywego ducha. Kawałek dalej dostrzegamy drugą budkę. Tym razem celnik nas odprawia i podbija paszporty. W Nikaragui łapiemy sie na ostatni autobus na południe w stronę Chinadega. Ze względu na rabunki, porwania i kradzieże dokonywane przez lokalne grupy przestępcze, raczej odradza się podróżowanie po zmroku. Nie mamy jednak wyboru.

Salwador (hiszp. el Salvador) to kraj często omijany przez turystów, zdecydowanie nie leżący na uczęszczanych przez nich szlakach, prowadzących przez Amerykę Środkową. Postanawiamy więc zboczyć z typowej trasy, aby chociaż na kilka odwiedzić tajemniczy el Salvador i wyrobić swoje własne zdanie na temat tego kraju. Typowy krajobraz drogi prowadzącej z Hondurasu to liczne przełęcze i zielone doliny z widokiem na odległe wulkany. Kierowca autobusu i jego pomocnik nieustannie krzyczą i gwiżdżą, z wielką pasją i zaangażowaniem nawołują napotykanych po drodze ludzi do skorzystania z transportu do stolicy. Wielokrotnie odnoszę wrażenie, że do tego autobusu już nikt więcej się nie zmieści, a jednak przy odpowiednim ustawieniu rąk, nóg i kręgosłupa udaje się upchnąć wszystkich chętnych.

Pierwsze wrażenia jak najbardziej pozytywne - Copán to zadbane i spokojne miasteczko. Duże zróżnicowanie wysokości, strome uliczki i wybijające się palmy w centrum ułatwiają orientację. Transport miejski ułatwiają czerwone riksze, wszędobylskie na tutejszych brukowanych alejkach. Po zaciętych poszukiwaniach odnajdujemy miejsce przypominające przystanek, dodatkowym utrudnieniem przy wydostaniu się z miasta są losowe godziny kursowania autobusów. Udaje nam się jednak trafić na taki, który zabierze nas do Aguas Calientes.

Nasz minibus wjeżdża w głęboką kałużę wapienną. Wewnątrz pojazdu robi się ciemno i ogranicza to widoczność do zera. Zatrzymujemy się, aby umyć przednią szybę. Jeszcze tylko parę godzin jazdy po wertepach. Miasteczko Flores znajduje się w północnej części Gwatemali. Mijając kolorowe budynki i wąskie, brukowane uliczki odnajdujemy hostel "Los Amigos". Przyjemne miejsce, pełen chillout, ludzie z całego świata, hamaki, drinki i desery owocowe licuados de frutas.

Belize

Samolot z Miami zbliża się do półwyspu Yukatan. Lądujemy na lotnisku położonym pół godziny od Belize City. Terminal wygląda dość nietypowo. Przypomina bardziej dworzec autobusowy z lat osiemdziesiątych niż nowoczesny port lotniczy. Ludzie ustawiają się w kolejce i czekają na podawane ręcznie bagaże. Przy odprawie wypełniamy formularz imigracyjny, a po krótkiej rozmowie, czarnoskóry celnik wbija nam pieczątkę do paszportu.

Traveling to Central America resulted in new inspirations. Fabulous Caye Caulker island in Belize is a place where time is irrelevant and the only problem is to open a coconut. A hitch-hike ride on a truck full of pineapples and limes is by far better than riding limo. Every experience has its accompanying emotions which cause the discovering desire to increase uncontrollably.

Not always. Sometimes the only wish is to stop the time. Laguna Lachua is a beautiful lake of meteorite origin in Guatemala. The crystal clear water is close to thirty degrees warm. Plenty of submerged crater rocks are phenomenally blended into the overall landscape. It is an unforgettable feeling to be here at five in the morning to enjoy the view highlighted by subtle wildlife sounds coming from surrounding jungle. Natural wonders and unique coincidences. The hope in the eyes of a Honduran girl who just has earned a dollar selling a doll made by her mother. A warm tropical rain on coffee plantation. Fantastic people met in the colonial towns and hot salsa rhythms lasting all night long.

Arizona and Nevada

Weather anomalies. Beautiful, wild and uninhibited nature. Scorching hot deserts. Strictly monochromatic scenery. People and surroundings born in the wild west. Arizona and Nevada. The two states, which despite the common border, currency and language are so much unlike California that it's easier to talk about differences than similarities. We'll see a deep and gigantic wonder of nature, the Grand Canyon stretching out for several hundred kilometers across. Las Vegas, the world capital of debauchery, gambling and entertainment. We overcome the extreme heat of the Mojave Desert. A torrential storm is at most a drizzle compared to massive downpour in Arizona. Contemplating the Hoover Dam, a monumental accomplishment of human thought. A refreshing swim in Lake Mead and the turbulent Colorado River. Simply, the absolute freedom and unforgettable adventure.

Events of recent months have gained staggering momentum. All the time things keep happening. A new situations are positively shocking and unforgettable, yet some not very desirable also inevitably happen. Both things I have been expecting for a long time and those which I would never expect to happen. Almost every day is different and at the very thought of what would happen next I can't wait for the following morning. I feel that it is the best time of my life. The decisions I have taken have never been of so much satisfaction for me. The first and the key one was to take a year off my university and move for six months to England.

Sometimes all you need is a good place to rest and spend some time with not much of wandering around. California sounds perfect. Now that I found a cheap flights the opportunity at fingertips. There remains only the task to find a good company for such a trip. In fact it is quite easy to find another three daredevils to willing to taste the California lifestyle. While living in Orange County, we will see sunny beaches overcrowded with surfers. This is to be considered an American prosperity mainstay. Visiting the great metropolis, small towns, the Hollywood, getting lost in California off beaten tracks and devouring whatever is happening is all about enjoying the Golden State.

We take a tent, two backpacks, some food and fishing rods. The only necessary things to hole up for a week in Norwegian woods. The plan is to walk from one lake to another. This Scandinavian country is often associated with large amounts of fish, beautiful landscapes, short summer nights, fjords and clean, brisk air. These essential elements of a true trip into the nature sound encouraging. We optimize to see as much as possible while spending as little as possible. In fact, it is to a large extent feasible.

Caucasus, the Europe's freeriding Mecca

North Caucasus. Elbrus and Cheget are the two mountains, which slopes are covered with hundreds of thousands tones of fresh powder every year. Such snow conditions make it a true paradise for snowboarders. The trip itself to this place takes three and a half days. We take the challenge and get on a train which will take us to Kabardino-Balkaria, a land located in Russia, east of the Black Sea.

The trip begins at the northwest Poland. We take the train from Szczecin to Cracow. This is the first part of the journey. On this stage I don't even try to think about how long will it take for us to arrive at the Caucasus. In fact, the first ten hours is only access to the official takeoff station. Time goes by quickly and we arrive to Cracow in no time. It is a good opportunity to get together with Ewelina, a good friend who lives in the city.
